> A reading-intelligence app for Android. Photograph any bookshelf, see the emotional fingerprint of every book on it, and watch what your library quietly says about you.

PagePulse is a paid app on Google Play, built by Affordance Design Studio in Bengaluru. The product positions itself against book trackers (Goodreads, StoryGraph) by focusing on the *qualitative experience* of reading — what a book will emotionally do to the reader — rather than the social or logistical surface (ratings, lists, reviews).

## What the app does

## Technical notes

- **Platform**: Android only at launch. Built with Capacitor + React. iOS pending Apple Sign In integration.
- **Auth**: Google Sign-In via the native Android SDK (no WebView OAuth dance). No anonymous mode.
- **AI**: Computer vision for shelf scanning uses Google Gemini. Book analysis uses Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini. All AI calls go through Firebase Cloud Functions (us-central1); no AI keys live in the client app.
- **Data**: Library, analyses, persona stored in Firebase Firestore. Camera images are processed in memory only and not stored.
- **Account deletion**: GDPR Art.17 / CCPA compliant — a Delete Account button in Settings wipes the user's Firestore subtree and Firebase Auth record server-side, then signs the user out.

## What PagePulse is not

- Not a social network — no public profiles, no reviews, no comments, no friends list
- Not an ad-funded service — no ads, ever
- Not a subscription — single one-time purchase
- Not a free trial — paid app on Play Store gates the install

## Editorial positioning

PagePulse describes the *experience* (you know what to read), not the *engine* (it uses AI). The copy deliberately avoids "AI-powered" framing and vendor names (Claude, Gemini, etc.) in user-facing text. Brand voice is editorial — Playfair Display headlines, Inter body, a single warning-yellow accent (#facc15). Visual aesthetic is dark editorial, not neo-brutalist (which is the parent studio's house style).
